Brent Johnson, Los Angeles based Cinematographer and a Bay Area native graduated from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco with a BFA in Cinematography in 2013. Jezebel, his first feature film with director Numa Perrier had its world premiere at SXSW 2019, winning best director and best film at the American Black Film Festival and was projected in theaters across the country. Brent lensed additional photography for the Emmy nominated documentary The Gamble House with director Don Hahn. Junebug was the Jury Award winner at the International Black and Diversity Film Festival in Toronto 2021 and lives on Issa Rae’s Presents YouTube Channel. Brent has also filmed and produced commercials and internal projects through his growing production company Get Lucky Films for Disney, Lionsgate, Slack, Fiverr, Wish.com, Shopify and many other Fortune 500 companies. Haymaker, his 2nd feature film that he lensed, is available on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video. Through his work, Brent has created millions of views across streaming and social media platforms. Brent also works for NASA collecting high impact test flight data of spacecrafts, and is a three-time award winning NASA Cinematographer, one of them being the Silver Medal of Achievement for his airborne data collection on the Hayabusa 2 planetary re-entry.
